As 2025 comes to an end the next week, let’s take a look back to some of the biggest sports stories that occurred over the course of the last 12 months.
-Scio Wins First Softball State Title After Back-to-Back State Runner-Up Finishes
Blanchet Catholic Wins First State Title In Baseball. After finishing second in 2023, the Cavs got over the hump and won their first State Championship in Baseball in June.
After finishing State Runner-Up in 2024, the Amity Girls Basketball team won their first-ever State Championship in March when they held off Corbett over in Coos Bay.
During their inaugural season, the Marion Berries reached the West Coast League playoffs, nearly knocking off the Portland Pickles in their home playoff opener back in July to start the Best-of-3 series as the Berries build for this next Summer in Salem.
The Cascade Football team dominated the 4A Classification as the Cougars went on to win the 4A State Title this past Fall.
The Dallas Baseball team won their first State Playoff Game since 2017 this past Fall as the program looks to continue the same into this next Spring.
The Jefferson Girls Basketball team made school history by placing in State for the first-time ever back in March in Coos Bay.
The South Salem Baseball team walked it off against Sprague 15-14 to complete the Central Valley Conference sweep over Sprague. The game went into extra’s and was the second game in the three-game series to be decided by one-run.
South Albany’s Colin Cordle broke the Redhawk school record in a five-overtime thrilling game against Silverton last January to help South Albany over Silverton.
The Stayton Girls Basketball team won their first State Title since 2007 as they defeated Philomath 47-38 to close out the season 27-1.
