STAYTON, Ore.–  Corina Phillips has had herself a strong freshmen year for the Crosshill Christian Track and Field team.
And she took it to another gear in time with the District Meet coming up next week.
A week ago, at the Kennedy Twilight race, she PR’d in the 1,500 meter race with a time of 5:14.90, a hair over a five-second PR in the race.  And just when she thought she capped out with that race, she broke through and PR’d again on Friday night at the Regis Twilight Meet in Stayton.  PR-ing in the race with a time of 5:13.68, over a second faster than she did last week.
“It taught me how far I can push for Districts and what I could get at Districts.  This race was really high pressure, which is like the closest to Districts as I can get,” said Phillips.  “I only PR’d by like one second, but I didn’t think I could PR more, it’s a big milestone
Phillips PR’d in the 3,000 meter race with a time of 11:05.54, good enough for fourth-place in the event.
Quinn Sing finished eighth in the 400-meter race.  Derek Toornstra finished fifht in the 3,000-meter race.  Kasey Zuidema won the Shot Put and Discus while finishing third in the Javelin.  Khloie Cobb finished seventh in the Triple Jump with a PR jump fo 41-feet-7.5-inch jump.
