SALEM, Ore. — A strong start by the Amity Boys Basketball team to begin thr Crusader Classic helped lead the Warriors to their third victory in their last four games following their 63-19 victory over Central Linn on Thursday.
The squad hit on eight three-pointers, four by way of Austin Lopez who led the squad with 16 points, and their defense kept the Cobras at bay as they look to win their second-straight Crusader Classic Bracket Title.
It was their energy that they came out with that helped Amity to create that momentum and sustain it throughout the game.
“I was a little bit worried, especially with it today being the New Year and hoping that our guys got the rest they needed and were ready. Everyone was just engaged and wanted to be here and wanted to compete and that’s what happens when we’re all connecting on all cylinders, ” said Amity Head Coach Devin McShane.
Diego Dubay Lomeli scored ten and Carter Haarsma contributed another nine in the victory. The Warriors will play the winner of New Hope Christian and Umatilla at 1:30pm in the Main Gym at Salem Academy.
