SWEET HOME, Ore.–  Cascade’s Kalina Saechao came into the Meet of Champions looking for success.
She came out with a school record.
In the Shot Put, Saechao threw 41-feet-10-inches, setting a personal best for the senior while breaking the school record in the event.
“Honestly, that’s the best feeling ever.  I’ve always wanted to reach that PR, I’ve always wanted to beat the school record since sophomore year.  I was getting close and wanted to reach it, and I finally hit it,” Saechao said.  “Warmups, I was feeling pretty good, i was sliding through, and it went far.”
The senior thrower is hoping to be hitting those marks consistently moving forward into the District Meet, and hopefully, the State Meet later this Spring.  Saechao won the Discus with a 128-feet-3-inch PR.
Blake Baker finished fourth in the 110-meter hurdles with a PR time of 16.18.  Liam Brewer finished third in the Shot Put with a PR throw of 50 feet.  Brewer also finished second in the Discus.
Lilly Pickett won the 400-meter race and finished third in the 200-meter dash. The Cascade Girls Relay teams in the 4×100 and 4×400 races went one, two in the Meet.
