SALEM, Ore.– The Blanchet Catholic Track and Field team held the inaugural Jim Mucken Memorial Invitational Wednesday evening, where the Blanchet Catholic Boys and Girls teams won Team Titles. The Cavalier Boys won with a team score of 141.5, and the Blanchet Girls won with a team score of 190.
Blanchet saw Jeyden Flores Escorza win the Boys 100-meter dash, and James Barnett won the Discus with a PR throw of 141-feet-4-inches to win Titles on the Boys side.
On the girls’ side, the Cavs saw Abagail Miller winning the 300-meter hurdles with a PR time of 56.52. Molly Mucken won the Javelin, Shot Put, and Discus events. Eilee Mucken won the Pole Vault event, and Tatum Fleming won the Triple Jump Event.
The Salem Academy Boys and Girls teams finished second behind their rivals in Blanchet.
On the boys’ side, the Crusaders saw Tobin Saunders win the 200-meter dash, Jase Potloff won the 1,500 meter race, and Noah Dettwyler swept the hurdles events as he won the 110-meter300-meter hurdles. Mateo Schutt won the High Jump with a PR jump of 6-feet-0.5-inches.
On the girls’ side, Celia James won the 400-meter race, and Adalin Narvaez won the 100-meter hurdles. The Salem Academy SMR 800-meter relay team and the Salem Academy DMR 4,000-meter relay teams won their events, and Salem Academy’s Emma Brewer won the High Jump
The Regis Boys and Girls teams each finished seventh at the meet. Regis’ Braden Rush finished fourth in the Shot Put with a PR throw of 34-feet-11-inches. Emmett Wagenaar finished fourth in the Javelin. Josh Crowell finished fourth in the Pole Vault. On the Girls Side, Kaila Hayes finished second, and Sophia Shine finished fourth, both in the High Jump. Shine PR’d with a jump of 4-feet-4-inches.
