SALEM, Ore.– South Salem-grad Noah Scharer contributed extremely well for the Linn-Benton Roadrunners this Spring, aiding the NWAC Juggernaut to a third-place finish in the NWAC Tournament this May.
For the 2025 Saxon-grad, his 97 put-outs and two assists helped him earn a Gold Glove as a Outfielder in the NWAC South Region as a freshman.  Scharer also earned All-NWAC Tournament honors, also as an Outfielder for the Roadrunners of Albany.
The goal was to win it all, it always is with Linn-Benton, but confidence is high that they’ll have even dudes coming back to make it a reality in 2027.
“Obviously we wanted to win it all, fell to start to LC at the end of it, I think we’re ready to go for next year, we got a lot of dudes coming back.  So it’s going to be a fun year,” said Scharer, who batted .287 and drove in 30 runs in 44 games as a freshman.
And the incoming Linn-Benton sophomore is already back in the lab, as a member of the Marion Berries in the Berries second year in the West Coast League.
In the Berries first game of the year on Friday, in the third inning of the game against the Port Angeles Lefties, Scharer hit a solo Home Run that tied the game up at one going into the fourth inning.
“It’s a great opportunity just to represent Salem and do what I can do for the city,” said Scharer. “It’s a great opportunity to get better obviously, we’re going to play some good teams.  We have a great chance to go up to Canada this Summer, it should be really fun.  We’re going to have a lot of fun with the guys and try to get better as the Summer progresses.”
