Lawson Signs With GFU Football

STAYTON, Ore.–  Just as the school year was ending and he was planning on focusing on hia academics at Oregon State University, Regis’ Tanner Lawson got a golden opportunity.
A chance to continue his football career.  At George Fox University.
The chance came around about a month ago when Rams Head Coach Joe Manibusan got into contact with one of the Bruins coaches and struck up a conversation, which led to Lawson meeting up with a coach.  From there, once they realized it was going to be a good fit, they expedited the application process and slowly, but surely, has set up this opportunity for Lawson to be signing his Letter of Intent to go play College Football on Thursday afternoon on the last day of school for Regis.
“I was pretty sad when the season ended. It didn’t end the way we wanted it to, and it left a bad taste in my mouth.  But now I get to go play at George Fox…it’s a good opportunity,” starts Lawson.  “It’s coming pretty quick, but it’s all good things.”
Lawson will have a busy Summer of football ahead of him with the East-West Shrine Game in Baker City next month and the nine-man All-Star game in La Grande coming up this month.  Something that he hopes are for good mojo for him going into Fall Camp with GFU.
