STAYTON, Ore.–  It was just one inning that got the game away from the Post 58 Crushers on Thursday evening against the Redmond SunWest Builders in a non-league game.
The squad trailed 3-0 going into the sixth inning against Redmond in what was scheduled to be a nine-inning contest at Regis High School and had their chance in the bottom half of the fourth inning with the bases loaded to make their move.  But the SunWest Builders shut down that threat and eventually took advantage of their one opportunity to tear the game open.
It was the top half of the sixth inning where they, Redmond, took advantage of a handful of walks, errors and timely hits to turn a three-run ballgame into a ten-run lead by inning’s end in what would be an 11-0 Redmond victory in seven innings.
“I thought we were doing great. We were still in it up to that inning.  It was just that inning. It unwound, and we couldn’t get back into it. It is what it is,” said McNary’s Cash Martin. “Just learn from our mistakes.  We had a couple of errors out there, and we just got to improve overall.”
Martin pitched three innings, striking out three batters in the defeat.  Kennedy’s Brody Panuke and Scotty Cummings each had a hit each for the Crushers, who will host a doubleheader Monday against the Dodgers before heading to Klamath Falls on Tuesday.
