Several local teams were in action between Thursday and Saturday. Here’s a Round-Up:
Harvey Lewellen Throws Invitational
SPRINGFIELD, Ore.– Amity’s Kiyan Vrell won the Javelin with a throw of 180-feet-11-inches and finished fourth in the Discus. Jaxson Howard finished second in the Shot Put and finished sixth in the Discus Saturday.
The Warriors Amelia Genz finished third in the Shot Put and was seventh in the Javelin and eighth in the Javelin.
Mollala Invitational
MOLALLA, Ore.–The Sheridan 4×100 relay team of Travis Lugo, Chase Elchler, Alex Martison and Jayden O’Reilly finished third. Santiam’s Colt Twede finished third at the Shot Put with a PR throw of 44-feet-2-inches on Saturday.
Girls Track and Field
Sheridan’s Chole Ayala finished second in the 200 meters and fourth in the 100 meter dash. Santiam’s Averie Peterson won the 1,500-meter race with a time of 5:00.96 and Triple Jumpe with a PR jump of 34-feet-8-inches. Santiam’s Reese Longfellow won the Javelin event with a throw of 93-feet-4-inches.
Jim Barks Grizzly Open
MCMINNVILLE, Ore.– On Thursday, Amity’s Trenton Ruston finished third in the 200-meter dash. Delphian’s Oli Beauregard won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.99. Dayton’s Erick Chinchilla finished fifth in the 300-meter hurdles
Delphian’s 4×100 (second) and 4×400-meter (fifth) relays finished in the Top 5.
Amity’s Brody Horne won the Shot Put with a throw of 45-feet-7-inches. Jaxson Howard was fifth. Horne also finished fourth in the Discus. Delphian’s Alex Maddox finished second in the Javelin with a PR throw of 125 feet. Dayton’s Asher Maxwell finished fifth in the Long Jump with a jump of 19-feet-9.5-inches, a PR.
On the Girls side of the Track and Field event, Delphian’s Liv Curry finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles and finished fourth in the 300-meter hurdles. Curry also finished second in the High Jump
Dayton’s Hadley Hughes won the Discus with a throw of 100-feet-6-inches and the Javelin with a throw of 118-feet-2-inches (a PR) and finished second in the Shot Put. Delphian’s Amelia Peterson finished second in the Javelin with a PR throw of 109-feet.
Dayton’s Nora Shepherd finished second in the Triple Jump and Delphian’s Amy Guy finished fourth in the Triple Jump.
