KEIZER, Ore.–  It wasn’t too long ago that Kenzie Beougher was leading the Stayton Eagle softball team to the 4A State Playoffs.
The 2025 Eagle-grad graduated as the Oregon West Conference Pitcher of the Year and spent this past school year at Oregon Tech (OIT) before just transfering closer to home to Corban.  Not quite ready to hang up the cleats, Beougher decided to spend one last Summer playing the game that she loves as she’s a member of the CSC Ignite 18U squad.
Beougher, one of a few incoming college sophomores on the roster, has contributed well pitching for the Ignite.  In four games pitching for the Ignite, Beougher has pitched 17 innings with 14 strikeouts, including an  five inning, seven strikeout performance in the Ignite’s 8-0 victory over the Newport Tides 18U squad Saturday morning at Volcanoes Stadium.
“I’ve been playing since I was little, so it’s definitely been a big part of my life.  It’s been something I’ve enjoyed, my family comes and supports me, it’s been a big part of my life, so it’s been fun coming back out here,” said Beougher.  “I took a break, so it’s been a little bit of an adjustment coming back, but I’m pretty proud of myself with how I’m doing, it’s been fun.
“It’s a good group of girls, we all get along pretty well.  It’s been nice to get back out here, have fun and play.  Our coach is great, Aaron (Qualls), he’s amazing.  It’s been a big part of my life and it’s a good group to finish it off with, I’m happy to be here.”
Beougher drove in three runs on two hits in the CSC Ignite 18U’s 2-0 Pool Play day in Keizer.
