SALEM, Ore.– After a slow start to their 3A/2A/1A State Playoff Opener against Douglas,  the Blanchet Girls Soccer team came around in the second half in what became a 3-0 victory over the Trojans on Saturday afternoon.
Gigi Orozco scored twice, and Bella Vargas added another goal that helped turn what was a 0-0 game into what became the three-goal margin to push the Cavaliers into the second round of the playoffs.
“It was an amazing feeling, and we’ve been building up to it in practice.   We’ve been practicing a lot every day, and I think it was a really good relief  to finish with a win,” said Orozco.
Blanchet will travel to play at Creswell on Tuesday in the second round of the 3A/2A/1A State Playoffs.
