The Vencer 17U squad finished the 18U Portland Showcase Tournament with a 5-2 record and a Runner-Up finishes in the Silver Bracket on Sundat at Chemeketa Community College. Vencer fell in the Championship Game 8-0, with hits by Sprague’s Cameron VanKempen and Central’s Santi Alacron.
Alacron had two hits in the 2-0 Semi-Final victory on Sunday with Colt Pupo throwing a complete game shutout.
Of note, VanKempen threw a complete game one-hitter on Saturday against the Expos Willamson squad with four strikeouts in a 1-0 victory. Sprague’s Holden Rasmussen also threw a complete game one-hitter on Friday against the Mancis-Cuello squad with eight strikeouts.
