DAYTON, Ore.–  Amity’s Jackson Walker has been improving on his craft at Quarterback.
Both on-and-off the field, Walker has seen a lot of personal development going from a inexperienced sophomore getting some game reps in at Quarterback, to taking to heart what 2025 Warrior-grad Con Coehlo was helping him with last year as a junior.  All is what Walker, now entering his senior year, is hoping he will pay off dividends and help Amity win some ball games on Friday nights this Fall.
“Sophomore year, I was young and didn’t have a lot of experience.  I had a couple of good games, and I improved a lot.  Junior year, I was developing and learning from our senior quarterback, and I think it’s all going to come together this senior year for me,” said Walker.  “(Con) taught me a lot of decision-making.  He helped me a lot with form and learning how to view the field better, so I think that’s going to help a lot.”
On Saturday, at Dayton High School, the Warriors took part in the fifth-annual Dayton Small School 7-on-7 Tournament.  Amity went 2-2 on the day with wins over Harrisburg and Pleasant Hill on Saturday.
“So far, it’s giving me the confidence.  We’re getting the checkdowns, getting the short passes, and when we need it, we’re going long.  It’s how it’s going to have to work during the season,” said Walker. “I think we’re getting good at what we have to do, and it’s going to move right into the season.  I’m proud of my team, and I’m happy with myself right now.  If I work on my interceptions, I think we’ll be pretty good.”
