DAYTON, Ore.–  Willamina’s Ben Moore credits his visualization and positive mindset in helping him win the Triple Jump District Title on Saturday afternoon at Dayton High School, winning the event with a PR jump of 41-feet-10.1.5-inch jump, winning the event by two-inches.  It was the sophomore’s first District Title.
“It meant so much because I put in so much work following up to Districts and keep putting in the work to State and PRing again,” Moore said.  “I’m just going to keep doing good things, staying locked in and focused.”
Moore was one of two Bulldogs to win District Titles at the District Meet this weekend, the other being Evelyn Anderson, who won the District Title in the Pole Vault with a vault of 7-feet-10.75-inches Saturday afternoon.
For the senior, to place as high as she did, meant a lot for her as she makes her third trip to the State Track and Field Meet at Hayward Field this next weekend.
“It’s sad.  It’s sad, but I’m hoping I do well at State to make it up being my last season.  I just want to have fun and enjoy it,” said Anderson.  “With it being my last season, I’m really excited,” said Anderson.  “I just kept a really good attitude, I kept it positive.”
Moore qualified for the State Meet in the Long and High Jump.  Nichole Goodwin qualified for State in the Triple Jump with her third-place finish
