SALEM, Ore.– Through the highs and lows, Hancock has always had a good mentality, a positive outlook, and leading by example, and that leading by example has led to this day on Wednesday at Blanchet. On this day, he was signing his Letter of Intent to play baseball at Linfield University.
Hancock has always been the competitive-type and always wants to find ways to win a ballgame every time he steps onto the diamond. To put his best foot forward to be all that he can be.
“You always got to put the team first . It’s for the team. It’s not for you,” Hancock starts. “And it’s been a help for us this year. It’s been big to have that family aspect to it. You’re close with everybody, and you want to win for these guys, and I’m excited to see where the season goes.”
The Cavaliers close out the regular season Thursday with a double header against Marist before embarking on the 3A State Playoffs after the Memorial Day weekend.
“We just got to stay focused and take it one game at a time. Worry about the first game and then worry about the second game,” said Hancock.
Hancock will be joining a historic Wildcat program that went 24-18 this past season and reached the Northwest Conference Tournament this Spring. He is excited to jump right in and contribute as soon as he can.
“I’m really excited to be up there. I’m going to do whatever I can to help the team and earn a starting spot. I’m really excited and they have a lot of baseball history and I can’t wait to see where it goes,” said Hancock.
