KEIZER, Ore.– McNary High School has announced the hiring of Josh Riddell as Head Football Coach.
A McKay-grad, a 2004-graduate, where he won Valley League Offensive Player of the Year honors as a Quarterback and played collegiately, Riddell began his coaching career at McNary back in 2010 as freshman Offensive Coordinator before working up the ranks. Riddell was the head coach at his alma mater from 2016-2018 before becoming Varsity Offensive Coordinator at West Salem for the last six seasons.
“Super excited to be the head coach of McNary High School. I am grateful to coach in the Keizer community where I grew up and had such great support,” Riddell starts. “We hired KJ McCrae as the defensive coordinator, bringing him back to his Alma Mater, and we are excited about the staff we are putting together. We have a meeting with the student athletes at McNary Wednesday morning, can’t wait to meet some of the kids.
“We are excited to work with McNary Youth football and our two feeder middle schools (Claggett Creek, and Whiteaker) to make sure Keizer athletes are growing up excited to be a future McNary Celtic football player. I’m around, I’ll be around, come see me, and let’s chat McNary football!”
The Celtics went 0-9 this past fall and will be looking for their first victory since the 2021-2022 season.
