AMITY, Ore.–  It was like that Spiderman pointing at each other meme between Amity and Astoria Wednesday night.
Both teams wanted to go fast and score offensively and both teams wanted to press and be physical on the defensive side of things.
The Warriors managed to control the chaos first as they took a 25-15 lead by the 6:25 mark of the second quarter and they sustained that energy and lead for the remainder of the half as they held onto at least a two lead on the Fishermen.
It was definitely different, we aren’t we’re not used to having other teams get out on us, but i think it was good for us, it’ll help us see how to better defend it and help us get better in shape,” said Adie Nisly of Astoria’s playing style.    “We’ve had our best first half that we’ve played so far, so it was really important to keep it going and prove that we can keep up our intensity  even though we were tired.’
Astoria came out sharper on defense and slowly began to chip away at what was a 34-24 deficit, the squad getting the deficit to four before Amity pieced together a 9-2 run to end the third frame with a 47-36 lead to show for it.
“They got it down to four and we did a good job pushing back, playing defense and playing our game,” said Alyssa McMullen.
Adie Nisly led the Warriors with 19 points.  Alyssa McMullen and Eliza Nisly each scored 11 points and Saralynn Grove scored ten points.  Amity will host Scio on Friday in PacWest Conference action.
