On Wednesday, the McNary Athletic Department announced the hiring of Josh Scott as Head Coach of the Celtic Flag Football team. Here’s the press release:
Keizer, OR – The McNary Celtics are pleased to announce the hiring of Josh Scott as the new Head Flag Football Coach at McNary High School.
Josh Scott brings experience as a college football player, college and high school football coach and local baseball and national level softball coach.
Coach Scott played football at Eagle Point High School before continuing his career at Willamette University from 1996 to 1998. During his time at Willamette, the Bearcats won two conference championships and finished as national runner-up in 1997. Coach Scott is also a member of the Willamette University Athletics Hall of Fame as part of that 1997 team.
His football coaching experience includes serving as offensive coordinator at Eagle Point High School in 1999, coaching at Willamette University from 2000 to 2012, and coaching at Saint Mary’s School in 2021. Scott has also coached softball with NW Vandals softball and baseball teams from 2018 to 2026 and at McNary High School in 2024.
“I am extremely excited to take over the McNary women’s flag football program,” Scott said. “McNary has a long tradition of outstanding athletic programs. I’m looking forward to building a great coaching staff and helping our young women take flag football to the next level. Go Celts!”
