Several local-area teams kicked off the season Thursday at the Jim Barks Grizzly Bear Open in McMinnville.
Here’s a Round-Up:
Delphian (in Sheridan)
Oli Beauregard won the 110-meter hurdles and finished second in the 100-meter. Nathan Clotier finished third in the 800-meter race. The Delphian 4×100 relay team finished third and their 4×400 meter relay finished second in the boys races respectively. Henry Gullo finished second in the Javelin throw with a PR throw of 152-feet-4-inches. Mark DeVries finished second in the Long Jump and third in the Triple Jump
Avery Ott placed ninth in the 100-meter dash. Piper Gibson finished sixth in the 200-meter dash. Lily Oilvares and Liv Curry went seventh and eighth in the 100-meter hurdles. Curry also finished third in the High Jump. Amelia Peterson finished third in the Javelin
South Salem
South Salem’s Tyler Gienfer finished fourth in the 200 meter dash and won the 400-meter race. South Salem’s Bo Koreski and Charles Squires finished second and third respective in the Shot Put. Koreski finished second in the Discus with a PR through of 133-feet-7-inches. Calvin Stewart won the High Jump with a jump of 6-feet-4-inches
Amity
Bradley Sexton and Trenton Ruston went two, three in the 400-meter race. Deacon Howard finished 11 with a PR throw of 108-feet-10-inches. The Amity 4×400 Boys Relay team finished fourth. Ethan Owings finished third at the High Jump.
Amity’s Ella Hatch finished third in the 300-meter hurdles and was 14th in the 100-meter hurdles. Adaclara Fiefeld finished sixth in the Discus. Maci King and Sage LaRance went seventh and eighth in the Javelin
Perrydale
Greta Fillible set a PR with the Pole Vault with 9-feet to finish second. Amy Guy won the Triple Jump with a jump of 31-feet-2.75-inches. Fillible also finished eighth in the 400-meter race. Isabelle Arthur finished fifth in the Javelin. Ja’nice Taylor finished eighth in the Triple Jump
Willamina
Willamina’s Wyatt Hubbell finished 12th in the 400-meter race. Billy DeLoe III finished 26th in the Shot Put, 15th in the Discus. Shane Mathers and Davin Spencer finished ninth and tenth in the Javelin. Matthew Atherton finished tied for second in the High Jump. Mathers finished seventh in the Long Jump.
Emile Turner and Libby Warnicke finished sixth and tenth respectively in the 400-meters
