KEIZER,  Ore.–  Some say that if you put it in play, good things will happen.
And sure enough they did in favor of McNary on Friday afternoon against Ridgeview.
After two slow innings to start the game, and coming off of their 2-1 defeat to Mountainside on Wednesday, the Celtic offense came around to back up their defense.
Down 2-0 to the defending 5A State Champions, McNary scored five runs in the bottom half of the third.  A shutout inning in the top half of the fourth led into an eight run inning that put the Celts up 13-2 after four innings at McNary High School.
“I think as a team we started to find it today.  We have a lot of new girls this year and i think today we all  felt something.  It feels great, I think everyone is just ready to go,” said Macy Fessler.
Fessler and Violet Siegel each led McNary with three hits and 2RBI’s.  Josalyn Netzel added a two-run home run in the process.
And though the Ravens cut the lead to nine, thanks to a Brezlyn Hagemeister two-run home run,  the Celtics were able to close out a solid 14-4 win over Ridgeview in six innings on Friday going into Spring Break.
“We really came together after the first two runs they scored and came together as a team and really worked together, ” said Ashlyn Wittnebel.  “(The last two games) have really made us confident in each other.”
The Celtics will open the Glencoe Best of the West Tournament on Monday.
