SALEM, Ore.–  Coming off their tough defeat to Trinity Lutheran on Thursday, the Blanchet Catholic Boys Basketball team came out fired up and ready to get back on track.
Against East Linn Christian on Friday night, the Cavaliers flew around.  Their defense got the stops, their offense got the points as they were relentless against the Eagles in their 49-27 victory to advance to the Crusader Classic Green Bracket Consolation Bracket Finals.
“In the Trinity game, we really didn’t move the ball around, we didn’t play defense the way we should. Today we did a lot better, still a lot to improve on, ” said Sam Mosar.  “(The energy) today was fantastic, we did a really good job staying vocal.  Our big thing is to play four quarters.   If we play four quarters, we’re one of the best, if not the best, team in the State.  We just got to go out there and do it.”
The win was Blanchet’s fourth in their last five games and will be looking to extend that stretch for Saturday’s game against the winner of Nyssa-Vale before jumping back into PacWest Conference play next week.
Mosar led Blanchet with 16 points and James Barnett contributed another 15 points. Ryder Howard led the Eagles with ten points.
