SALEM, Ore.– The Chemeketa Community College Men’s Soccer created chances for themselves in the second half to get back into their NWAC South Region game with Lane on Saturday afternoon.
The Storm trailed 2-0 to the Titans, who scored their goal goals in the 31st and 45th minutes respectively, entering the second half; yet came out with passion and intensity in the final 45 minutes.
Their defense held Lane to one shot in the second half while their offense produced seven shots.
It gave them, Chemeketa, a chance to claw back late, but it just wasn’t their day with their shots not falling in their 2-0 defeat at home.
“It was big, it was real big. Unfortunately for us, it wasn’t our day, they didn’t go in. But everything else looks like we’re in good rhythm moving forward,” said Chemeketa Head Coach Martin Maldonado. “I love our possession from our side to their side. We just got to clean things up in the final third.
“We definitely need to finish those opportunities. We’ll clear up that for sure because that could make or break us from winning league.”
Chemeketa will be on the road for the next two games, away at Rogue on Saturday before heading to Southwestern Oregon Community College on September 24 before returning home September 27 against Portland.
