MILL CITY, Ore.–  Over the nine years that Maddi Fergason has been part of the coaching staff at Scio High School, she’s seen the development of the program into a respected 3A squad in Volleyball.
“There’s a lot of credibility for the girls and the team. They come in every day and work hard.  They work really hard at practice, and they’re really excited there, and we want that to carry over to here,” starts Ferguson.
On Thursday, the Loggers took part in Santiam’s annual jamboree.  With two returners from last year’s 3A State Playoff team, the two being Kayce Braa and Emma Thatcher, the jamboree served as a good introduction for those new to the Varsity level and giving Braa and Thatcher a chance to work on their leadership skills before the games start this next week.
“This is less about wins-and-losses and more about developing our skills so that we can care about  the wins-and-losses moving forward,” said Fergason.
Scio opens the season on Tuesday back at Santiam when they play Monroe and Santiam at 4pm and 7pm.
