STAYTON, Ore.–  Silverton’s Ryne Hockman continues his strong performance with another complete game effort against the Post 20 Dirtbags Tuesday evening.
In 91 pitches, Hockman struck out seven and only allowed three hits in what would be a 3-0 victory in favor of the Crushers.
“For me, this is all on my teammates. They came up with some great plays today, and they made some great plays.  I trust them to make every ground ball and every groundball.  That’s about it,” said Hockman.
Brody Panuke and Wade Bergdhal drove in runs for the Crushers on the day.  Timing out the runs around the sixth hits that they got and taking advantage of two Post 20 errors to separate themselves from their Area-3 counterpart.
It put a damper on the complete game effort that Heath King had for the Dirtbags on the day.  King went the distance on 66 pitches and, outside of those three runs, kept his squad within reach of the Crushers.  Now, going into Wednesday’s doubleheader, he’s hoping that they can back up their defensive performance with the bats.
“We can use this game as a positive.   We were on this game. We can hang with them. We just need to get the bats rolling tomorrow and see some of those changes, ” said King.
Wednesday’s doubleheader starts at 3pm out at Dallas High School.
