Several local Salem-area teams were in action Saturday at Track meets. Here’s a Round-Up:
T Speed Need For Speed
SHERWOOD, Ore.– West Salem’s Justin Bell finished third in the 1,500-meter race with a 4:01.75 PR on Saturday. North Salem’s Braxton Singleton finished fifth in the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles. West Salem’s Vinny Arnold finished fifth in the Javelin with a 141-feet-10-inch PR and West Salem’s Logan Hilty finished second in the Long and Triple Jump.
West Salem’s Avery Meier finished third in the 1,500-meter race. North Salem’s Nelida Dalgas and West Salem’s Mia Rasca finished third and fifth respectively in the 3,000-meter race. Stayton’s Molli Emmert finished third in the Shot Put with a 35-feet-5-inch PR and the Eagles Mila Morley finished second in the Javelin with a 116-foot throw, a PR.
Rob Frank Invitational
BANKS, Ore.– Kennedy’s Kaleb Eder finished fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.34, a PR for the sophomore. Eder also finished fifth in the 400-meter. Falls City’s Chris Sickles finished fourth in the 110-meter hurdles and finished sixth in the 300-meter hurdles. Gervais’ Monty Andres finished fourth in the Javelin event and finished second in the High Jump. Kennedy’s Sam Duda finished third in the Pole Vault.
In the Girls Track and Field meet, Kennedy’s Amber Handran finished fifth in the 100-meter hurdles. Kennedy’s Tia Allen finished second in the Shot Put and won the Discus event. Kennedy’s Isabel Berning finished fourth in the Javelin. Perrydale’s Greta Fillible finished fourth in the Pole Vault.
Sisters Invitational
SISTERS, Ore.– The Santiam Boys Track and Field team finished seventh as a team with the Wolverines Justice Faville finished fourth in the 3,000-meter race with a time of 12:20.36, a PR for the freshman. Santiam’s Colt Twede won the Shot Put, Kyle Taylor finished third in the Discus. Taylor and Twede finished sixth and seventh respectively in the Javelin.
The Santiam Girls Track and Field team finished fourth as a team as Averie Peterson won the 800-meter and 1,500-meter races as well as the Triple Jump. Absyde Bilyeu and Maggie Sisk finished second and third in the 3,000-meter race. Reese Longfellow won the Long Jump and finished third in the Javelin
