MONMOUTH, Ore.– The sport of Lacrosse has meant a lot for West Salem-grad Wyatt Livengood.
Having played the sport for 15, 16 years, Livengood has played, reffed, and coached the sport that molded Livengood into the person that he is today.
“This sport, it’s mean a lot. I’ve been playing it for so long, and I love to give back. I love coaching, I love reffing and playing the game. I’m happy to come back out here to Western Oregon and playing one more season with them. It’s a part of my life,” Livengood said.
The former Titan and current Wolves Attacksmen finished with four goals and an assist in Western Oregon’s 32-0 win over Pacific Lutheran University to improve to 4-0 on the season. He and Ckelton (Thurston-grad) each finished with four goals in the win with Cristian Kreske leading the Wolves with five goals going into their Bye Week this next weekend. With their big game against College of Idaho at home on March 16, the Yotes are currently ranked 34th in the latest MCLA Division-II rankings. The Wolves will be using their week-off in preparation for the Yotes
“It’s a lot of momentum. Hopefully, we can keep that momentum going in for the next two weeks. We get a week off, so it’ll be pretty nice to recover. A lot of film, we’re going to do a lot of film,” laughs McNary-grad Kaden Donahue.
“We need to play more team ball. We have so much potential here, so many good players that we can do a lot of damage this year. I think this is the year that we can really step it up and get to the Championship in the PCNLL,” adds Livengood. “This week and next week, playing the College of Idaho, they’re a ranked team. They’re a really good team. This is going to be a really tough game for us.”
